Katie uses Positive Reinforcement training to teach dogs of all breeds and ages basic skills, including Loose Leash Walking and Coming when called, as well behavior modification for issues such as resource guarding (food/toy aggression) and separation anxiety. 

Katie began her career with dogs in 2008 after she adopted her Pit Bull puppy, Maggie. She took Maggie to a training class and was hooked. After that Katie worked as a dog handler at a dog daycare and then as an accredited Dog Trainer. Once she earned her Certification through the Animal Behavior College's Dog Trainer program, she began her own dog training business.  Since then she has become a Professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the Pet Professional Guild.  Katie is Certified in Fear Free Handling and Veterinary Visits with Fear Free Pets.  She has her Certification with the Counsel of Professional Dog Trainers.  She is an Evaluator for the AKC's S.T.A.R. Puppy program as well as the AKC Canine Good Citizen Program and AKC Temperament Testing. 

In 2017 Katie started teaching group classes at East Greenbush Animal Hospital and when they opened The Big Red Doghouse in 2020, Katie was the manager and head trainer.  In 2022 Katie became the Director for Far Fetched Acres dog boarding and training facility. She was in charge of dog behavior and welfare and teaching staff how to read dog body language and understand dog behavior. She also did dog training for their boarding clients.

Since she started in 2009, Katie has continuously been offering private dog training throughout upstate New York, including Albany, Schenectady, Troy, East Greenbush, Kinderhook, Valatie and Chatham.
