Private Training

Evaluations usually last 1 to 1.5 hours, though Katie asks that you set aside two so there is no rush. These are very important as they give you and your pup(s) a chance to meet Katie and discuss all of your goals for your dog. Katie will then go over what it will take to reach your goals and give you an idea of how many sessions it may take to get there.

Want to accelerate your pup's training? Katie will work one-on-one with your dog, reinforcing the cues and behaviors covered in your group class or private sessions. Why 30 minutes? 30 minutes is the ideal length for an intense training session, long enough for effective learning but short enough to prevent mental fatigue. By the end of the session, most pups are ready for a well-earned nap!

A private one-hour training session gives you and your dog focused, personalized attention with Katie. Whether you’re working on basic manners, addressing behavioral concerns, or fine-tuning specific skills, each session is tailored to your goals and your dog’s individual needs. Katie will work one-on-one with you and your dog, teaching you practical techniques to continue using between sessions. Training can take place at the Playful Pups facility in Ghent, in your home, or at an agreed-upon location, depending on your training goals and what works best for you and your dog.

The Ultimate Dog Training Package is our most intensive training program, designed for dogs and families who would benefit from frequent, consistent, one-on-one training and support. Unlike a traditional weekly training session, this program gives your dog multiple opportunities throughout the week to learn, practice, and build on new skills. Katie works directly with your dog four days per week, allowing training to progress at a faster and more consistent pace. Three days each week include two 30-minute individual training sessions, and the fourth day includes one 30-minute training session followed by a one-hour transfer session with you and your dog. During the transfer session, Katie will show you what your dog has been learning, teach you how to work on those same skills, and help you carry the training into everyday life. Because every dog is different, there is no set curriculum. Your training plan is built around your dog and your goals. The program can work on basic and advanced manners, leash walking, recall, impulse control, jumping, settling, confidence, and behavioral concerns, as well as other skills your dog may need. The frequency of the Ultimate Package allows Katie to spend more time working directly with your dog while still making sure you are an important part of the process. It’s a great option for families who want more intensive support without sending their dog away for training. Please note: The Ultimate Dog Training Package includes 21 half hour training sessions and 3 one-hour transfer sessions over three weeks. Virtual training offers a convenient and effective solution for many dogs and their owners. Each session lasts one hour, providing the same dedicated time and attention as in-person training. Katie utilizes virtual training for various reasons—some clients live too far away, others prefer not to have visitors in their home, and some dogs may be uncomfortable or reactive around new people. Whatever your situation, Katie is happy to accommodate your needs.
